0 STUDENTS ENROLLED

    OVERVIEW:

This college art supplement course has a two-fold goal. The first goal is to help students tap into their intuitive, spontaneous, and creative side while at the same time, hone their basic drawing skills. There are a variety of projects designed to guide and encourage trust in their natural abilities to discover an artistic voice. We have developed this course for more analytically-minded students to help them merge observational, precise drawing techniques while encouraging a more creative approach. Also important is that we provide projects that many colleges require for an art supplement.

    OBJECTIVES:

    1. Develop Creativity
    2. Enhance ability to bring provocative ideas and think “Outside the Box”
    3. Learn to Design and Visualize Ideas
    4. Increase Observation Skills
    5. Discover an Artistic Style
    6. Create Work with a Major in Mind

When applying to competitive colleges it is expected that students are academically strong with a high GPA, are involved in sports or music, etc. and have additional skills or specialties. Our Art College Supplement portfolio can help in this matter because it is unique and it visually presents a student’s personality, artistic strengths, and creative side.  We offer projects based on our students’ artistic strengths and interest, as well as focusing on the major they are applying to, if they know.  Being creative is an indispensable trait necessary to be successful in all majors and careers.  We are here to help our students exhibit their creativity in a relatively in a short time period, while simultaneously have fun creating different kinds of work that may additionally help to relieve students’ stress levels.

    Course Description

This course is for students with little or no art background who would like to have an art supplement when applying to college as a way to boost their profile and make them stand out in the college application process. Every college has different requirements for their art supplement, and we will help meet all for each college requirement and prepare the portfolio for submission from start to finish.

How Long Does It Take and How Many Portfolio Pieces Will I Create?

That depends on student’s previous experience in art.  It is not necessary to have any prior experience, however. Most pieces take one or two weeks per project. In many cases, we refine student’s previous works and develop their art work to fit into their college art supplement’s requirements. Use of media and materials range and can include photography, drawing, painting, digital drawing, mixed media, etc. iArt Institute recommends students create minimally 12 works that demonstrate a range of media, techniques and subject matter.  The length of our program can vary from 2 to 6 months depends on a student’s experience and prior work.

Classes runs twice a week for 30 minutes to one hour for each meeting, depending on the student’s needs.  Projects take about 1 to 2 weeks to complete. Some examples of work students will create are:

    • Observational Drawings
    • Visualization Using Imagination
    • A Sustained Investigation Series in 4 to 5 related works
    • Create an Artistic Style that reflects Student Voice
    • Provocative Portfolio of artwork for College Submissions

    Initial Evaluation
The course will be customized for each individual student and takes into consideration his or her targeted college and major. We also synchronize online lessons with our superior Learning Management System (LMS) that contains all lessons by week, including all assignments, supplemental resources, links, videos, and power points with 24/7 access at all times. While we share the external folders with students to communicate, we keep all files safe.

You will meet one-on-one with your instructor with up to three students per class in “real time” Zoom meetings and complete approximately one work of art every two weeks.
